Networking On The State And National Level

Bone Dry has been a member of the Roofing & Sheet Metal Contractors Association of Georgia and the National Roofing Contractors Association since the company began. When he started the company, Collins felt it was very important to belong to an association in order to gain a presence in the market. Since then, he has been a strong advocate for the benefits of professional associations and is currently serving a two-year term on the executive committee for the NRCA. At the core of any good association is the desire to help its members improve their businesses, shares Collins. There are many components that can contribute to that such as providing technical and educational resources, mentor programs and member networking.

Through the associations, Collins and Bone Dry have been strong advocates for requiring licensing for roofing contractors in the state of Georgia. Although many roofing companies in the state have banded together for this cause, ultimately the elected officials at the state level did not believe that enough structure was in place to be able to regulate another licensing requirement. At the end of the day it causes harm to the public, says Collins. There are contractors out there who literally prey on homeowners and take their money and run.

Meet Jessica Judd General Manager

Jess grew up in the roofing industry in the Midwest where her father, Gene Judd, founded Bone Dry Roofing, Inc. Gene grew the business from a garage in Indianapolis, Indiana to nine offices over 30 years ago. After graduating from Indiana University Kelley School of Business, Jess moved to Colorado where she enjoys all things outdoors and began her career in the roofing industry working for residential and commercial roofing suppliers.

After serving in the supplier side of the roofing industry, Jess recognized an opportunity to bring an experienced team together to assist customers in navigating the roof replacement and repair process as well as the insurance process due to the Front Ranges common hail storms and high winds. She learned from her fathers company: if you take care of customers first and give them peace-of-mind in the services you provide, your customers will have an exceptional experience and be loyal to your company.

Bone Dry Roofing has a team of professionals that enjoy giving back to Fort Collins and surrounding communities. As a team, they volunteer with the Salvation Army and are committed to regular participation in community clean-ups.

Additionally, Bone Dry Roofing is GAF Master Elite Contractor, certified by the GAF and backed by GAF warranties. As a GAF Master contractor, Bone Dry Roofing meets standards such as being in good standing with the BBB, insured, and state licensing guidelines .

The Ladder Of Success

Most people would have torn it down. But the tiny garage in Speedway, Indiana inspired Gene Judd to start Bone Dry Roofing and launch a family of companies that have become the beacon of the roofing industry. And it all started as a true family affair with Gene swinging hammers next to his Dad, as well as his Mom.

Instead of climbing onto a bulldozer back in 1989 and flattening that old garage, Gene climbed a ladder and gave it the best roof in the neighborhood. He learned firsthand, and by hand, the secrets of how to put on one helluva good roof. Then he figured out how to do the same with gutters, downspouts, insulation, and masonry. Everything one might need to stay dry, warm and content. A rather noble goal for what started out as just a little ol roof.

As the Bone Dry allure spread, so did the company. Reaching throughout many Midwestern states and into Colorado and Florida. While these companies have slightly different names, they all have the same Bone Dry, gritty DNA. Make no mistake, these are not franchises. They are family-owned. And each one influenced by the same determined guy who turned that worn, modest garage into a model of envy for roofers everywhere. The Bone Dry Family of companies.
