After more than 20 years of experience inspecting metal roofs all around the country we have found that both butyl seam tape and polyester fabric in a three course application can create problems over time. In most cases we have found rust present under these types of applications in as little as 5 years. *Disclaimer – These are not roofs that we have installed.I am a firm believer in fluid applied roofing systems. We do however need a change in technology as it pertains to how we seal our seams on metal roofs.
