Is Red Roof Inn A Good Hotel

Choosing The Best Budget Hotel Chain

Hotel Review – Red Roof Inn Louisville Expo Airport

The acceptability of a cheap hotel depends on a variety factors, comfort and service being first and foremost. Rooms should be clean and contain a comfortable bed. Check-in should be simple and speedy, and employees should be friendly and helpful. Amenities may be sparse, but ideally a budget hotel offers free Wi-Fi and sustenance at the start of the day. Loyalty programs that earn free nights and other rewards are sometimes a big draw. And a safe, convenient location goes without saying.

At the end of the day, if the goal is simply finding a place to rest, most locations belonging to the top budget chains meet these basic standards. We researched many of the nation’s best-known economy-priced hotel chains, and while all have their ups and downs, Days Inn and Microtel Inn & Suites stand out as the best options. Both offer more desirable perks than the competition, including guaranteed Wi-Fi and free breakfast, and guest reviews award most locations high marks for value and overall performance.

The two runners-up are Red Roof Inn and Motel 6 . The former garners strong reviews but is a bit stingy with amenities, and the latter slips slightly in ratings and amenities but offers one of the lowest prices for a night’s sleep.

Hometowne Studios Lakewood Co

I pre-paid through AARP 3rd party booking. Not informed there was a $100 deposit & a LEASE AGREEMENT!! Upon getting my keys, a resident, who lived in the back voiced not having any water. I asked Carlos, NO running water? He voiced there was water on my side of the building. Went to the room , viewed a mattress on a metal stand, no box spring, burn holes on the comforter, cupboards falling apart, no soap/shampoo & NO RUNNING WATER!! I immediately left, returned the keys, stating that I do not appreciate LIARS & demand that all my money be refunded! I was told I would have to go through the 3rd party for that. Upon calling the 3rd party while in the parking lot, we spent 45 min. trying to get ahold of mgment. When Ex did, Mgment LIED that the water WAS on! & would not release the $ already paid. THEIVES!!! I confronted Carlos with our conversation re: what the res said and my finding, he stood there looking like an F’n IDIOT as the mgr, kept on insisting that the water was on. I replied that IT WAS NOT ON AN HOUR & HALF AGO WHEN I CHECKED IN!! SB! I was charged for another room charge and the $100, that were both refunded. My original purchase was NOT! I will be reposting this review on as many sites as possible until I feel that I have been reimbursed through others knowing about and avoiding this place! The charge for one day at this place is about what the “residents” pay weekly. I asked a resident. The pics listed on AARP were luxurious compared to this place. More lies

This Is For The Red Roof Inn That Isin Dalton Ga Filthy

This is for the Red Roof Inn that is in Dalton, GA. The service people were great. Otherwise, I was shocked trying to turn on a broken lamp. The plug snapped when I tried to plug in my phone. The room was clean on the surface, but I sprayed and cleaned with disinfectant anyway. There was a cockroach in the room. The floors were filthy. After walking around on the floor I took a shower and my feet were very dirty. There was no Covid cleaning on the floor. It was dusty and we found a baby bottle in the corner. There was a smell that indicated no disinfectant had been used, especially on the floor. The TV had static lines on it so it was hard to view. The beds were clean and slept well. The owners of this Red Roof Inn should have an inspection as they are not giving employees the right equipment or time to properly clean. Also it is on them that the electrical plug and lamp shocked me. Not an employee issue, this is an OWNER ISSUE.

The Renovated Red Roof Inn: More Pluses Than Minuses

Red Roof Inn PLUS+ Chicago

“We were told to ‘wow’ the people,” said David, who was covering the front desk at the renovated Rockville, Md., property, Red Roof Plus+.

My room also pushed the superlative.

“Adding more WOW to your stay!” read a cheery welcome card on the bureau. The literature bullet-pointed the perks of my room, including 36 high definition TV channels, free WiFi and in-room coffee.

But were these goodies impressive enough to draw a “wow” from my lips?

In the past, the economy chain usually elicited a response that fell somewhere between a resigned groan and the cry of a wounded animal. For many bleary-eyed travelers, Red Roof was the Last Resort. Check in late, check out early, and catch enough shut-eye to avoid drowsy driver syndrome the next day.

Daily horoscope for January 18, 2022 »

But, starting in January 2012, Red Roof Inn surrendered to the scalpel for a serious makeover. It spiffed up its appearance and incorporated 21st-century amenities . Of its 360 hotels nationwide, 200 properties have unveiled their new faces and bodies, with the remaining inns expected to debut in 24 to 36 months. The ultimate goal of this mad hotelier experiment: to forge a new lodging category called “upscale economy.”

“Before, this was a motel. You just slept here,” David told me during my stay last weekend. “Now, it’s a hotel.”

Microtel Inn & Suites Review

Pros:Microtel is a relative newcomer in the budget lodging segment, but reviews indicate it outshines most of the competition by a long shot. In the 2016 J.D. Power and Associates North America Hotel Guest Satisfaction Study, the chain received the highest rating for budget hotels , earning 5 points out of 5 for overall satisfaction, cost and fees, facilities, services, guest room, and check-in/out. It scored 4 points for the reservation process and 3 for food/beverage. Reviews on Travelocity for a property in upstate New York, for example, assign more than 4 points each for room cleanliness, staff and service, hotel condition, and room comfort. Here and on other review sites we noted that guests seem pleased that their low expectations for economy hotels were repeatedly met and exceeded by the franchise. Many say they would definitely stay again at a Microtel.

Cons: Although some guest reviewers express disappointment with the visit, we discerned no obvious pattern in guests’ comments. Customer service is the one factor that seems to prompt occasional griping directed at some properties, including several reviews on TripAdvisor of a hotel in North Carolina reporting blots such as overcharges, unwillingness to accommodate a lost wallet, and failure to respond to complaints about noise. Comments posted on the same site complain about dirty, smelly rooms at an airport location, for example. That said, the vast majority of Microtel properties garner high marks overall.

Great Location Off The Strip Across From The Raging Parties At The Hard Rock Hotel And Casino And Next To The University Of Nevada Campus

Situated directly across from the Hard Rock Hotel — home to some of the most popular clubs and music venues in Vegas — the Comfort Inn Las Vegas is on a less popular four-lane highway called Paradise Road, which is mostly filled with strip malls, fast food joints, and plenty of traffic. There are popular restaurants within a five- to 15-minute walk of the hotel, such as a P.F. Chang’s and a number of steakhouses — Del Frisco’s, Ruth’s Chris, Gordon Biersch, and Morton’s. In addition, there’s a CVS pharmacy across the street . But if you choose to walk, know that you’re probably going to be the only person on the sidewalk.

Just outside the bright lights, bawdy shows, and grandiose structures, there’s a Vegas that stretches beyond that dense, 3.5-mile-long line of hotel-casinos on Las Vegas Boulevard, known as the Strip. Slightly removed from the incessant hustle are a number of hotels — located anywhere from a five-minute walk to a five- to 10-minute taxi or shuttle ride from the center of the action — that offer closer proximity to the Las Vegas Convention Center, a quieter night’s sleep, or, at times, a bit more bang for the buck.

  • Free hotel shuttle to the center of the Strip, the Convention Center, and the airport from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Five-minute drive from McCarran International Airport
  • Five-minute drive from the casinos, performances, incredible restaurants, nightclubs, and designer shopping on the Strip
  • Free on-site parking

Corporate Property Management Spin

Since inception, Red Roof Inn has owned and managed a number of properties directly. With the purchase of the brand from Accor, individual inns were placed into portfolios purchased by investment groups such as Five Mile Capital Partners, LLC., while Red Roof retained management. Through sales of individual inns for various reasons, the managed properties were whittled down to 67 by September, 2020 when they were removed from under the Red Roof Inn, Inc. umbrella and managed by a newly formed entity named RRI West Management, LLC. Some administrative functions remained in New Albany, Ohio while others moved to El Cajon, California. RRI West became the single largest franchisee of the Red Roof brand.

Discounts And Loyalty Programs

Increasingly common in the economy bracket, hotel loyalty programs help travelers earn free nights and other perks, such as exclusive offers. Several of the chains on our list belong to the Wyndham Hotel Group, which maintains an umbrella rewards program that covers stays at any hotel in the group. Thus, frequent check-ins at Days Inn, Microtel, Knights Inn, and Super 8 eventually earn a free night in one of the network’s hotels or condos, including upmarket properties such as Ramada, or a gift card from select retailers and restaurants. Red Roof Inn’s RediCard applies only at that brand’s hotels but offers perks such as express check-in and discounts for early booking, in addition to free nights.

Some hotel chains eschew traditional loyalty programs for other types of deals. At Motel 6, a new program called My6 offers members special savings on room rates and speedy online booking. Many chains also extend discounts to members of the military and AAA, and/or to seniors and government employees.

Hotel Reviews: What We Considered

REVIEW RED ROOF INN Hotel Myrtle Beach Video

To get an overall impression of the most popular budget hotel chains, we consulted mass surveys conducted by organizations such as J.D. Power and Associates and Consumer Reports, which compile meta data that reflect on the chains as a whole. We also combed through scores of guest reviews and found that assessments of specific locations posted on sites such as Orbitz, Travelocity, and TripAdvisor can deviate wildly from the survey norms.

Our research indicates that business travelers often care more about friendly service and a relaxing room while leisure travelers seem more interested in amenities such as breakfast and a pool, especially with children in tow. Reviews indicate that guests of low-priced hotel chains generally know not to expect frills or luxury amenities. What they want is a clean, relatively up-to-date room and friendly staff — all standards that the better economy operations generally meet, as evidenced in online comments and ratings. When a particular property earns a lower rating, it’s usually due to poor performance in one or both of these dimensions but sometimes reflects a bad location or irritants like late-night noise in the hallway or next door. The phrase “you get what you pay for” pops up often in reviews of budget hotels — for better or worse — and seems to signal acceptance of conditions given the savings.
