Which Shingle Is More Durable
Durability is a very important factor, because you want your new roof to last a long time. GAF and CertainTeed have comparable quality shingles.

They are much lighter than slate or other roofing types which make them easy to install. Composite plastic shingles are relatively affordable, but they are not as long lasting as most other shingle types. Plastic roofing lasts from 7 to 20 years depending on the type of plastic you choose to install.
